BEET, BERRY & CACAO SMOOTHIE
Oct 16, 2016I enjoy smoothie's all year round but definitely have them weekly when the weather is warmer. My main aim with smoothies is to try and keep fruit to a minimum. I think too many smoothies, especially ones you can buy, have too much fruit and not enough balance of vegetables, protein and healthy fats. Hence this nutritious powerhouse :)
Serves 1
Ingredients
4 strawberries
¼ beetroot
1 tablespoon cashews
1 tablespoon chia seeds
½ tablespoon goji berries (optional)
1 tablespoon cacao powder
1 cup almond/coconut milk
1 scoop natural vanilla protein powder (optional - I use Amazonia RAW)
½ cup water
Directions
Place all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend until smooth.
