Background
More about me...
Originally when I started University my interests lied in Exercise and Sport Science however after completing a few nutrition subjects I soon found a passion for food and nutrition and decided to pursue that path instead.
After two degrees in Nutrition at Deakin University I became a Registered Nutritionist with Nutrition Society of Australia and my husband (a personal trainer) and I began our first business venture, Linked - Training & Nutrition in Sandringham, Melbourne.
Linked has been going strong for over 10 years now and is where I focused my work on 1:1 consulting and managing the day to day of the gym side of the business. Knowing that there was so much opportunity to reach more people than within our Linked community, in 2016 I launched Body Good Food which is now my full time nutrition consulting business.
I have transitioned from 1:1 consulting to now working as freelance nutrition consultant specialising in culinary nutrition. My work evolves around bridging the gap between the science of nutrition and the practicality of applying that in your everyday cooking. The projects I work on vary greatly but most often I write recipes and content for brands, businesses, cafes and books, I run cooking classes and workshops for corporate businesses, I represent brands as a nutrition ambassador, I work in media and I run online programs.
Nutrition for me personally is more than just knowing what constitutes healthy eating as I am also an avid foodie and love to try new foods, keep up to date with food trends and learn about food culture and sustainability. I eat according to the seasons and include foods from all of the food groups but always prioritise getting my 5 serves of veggies per day and have a dietary pattern very similar to the Mediterranean diet.
